How it works

Two hormones.
One considered protocol.

Most weight-loss medication works on a single pathway. Tirzepatide speaks to two.

01 — GLP-1

Quiets the noise

Slows gastric emptying and works on appetite signaling — meals feel satisfying sooner, and the constant background chatter about food fades.

02 — GIP

Works with your metabolism

The second pathway — involved in how your body responds to insulin and handles energy after meals — is what sets tirzepatide apart from GLP-1-only treatment.

Together, they do what neither does alone — and your clinician decides if that's right for you.

The routine

Thirty seconds, once a week.

Tirzepatide is designed to disappear into your actual life — not reorganize it.

  • One small injection, weekly. Same day each week, about 30 seconds, with guided instructions in your member portal.
  • No clinics, no pharmacy lines. Everything ships cold-chain to your door in unmarked packaging.
  • A clinician on your side of it. Questions between refills are answered by your care team, usually the same business day.

Dosing, done properly

Titrated to you — never rushed.

Your dose is a clinical decision that evolves as your body responds. This is the typical arc, though yours may differ.

2.5mg · weeks 1–4

Your body acclimates

Treatment begins at the lowest dose while your clinician watches how you respond — most early side effects, if any, show up and settle here.

5mg · weeks 5–8

The working dose

If your first month goes well, your clinician steps you up. Many members feel the effect on appetite become unmistakable in this range.

7.5+mg · if needed

Only as far as necessary

Higher doses exist — but they're used only when your progress and your clinician say so. The lowest dose that works is the right dose.

Every step is reviewed. Dose changes at Parke are made by the clinician who knows your chart — never by an auto-renewal system. Adjustments, including slowing down or pausing, are included in your plan. New to the word? Titration, explained, in the Journal.

The evidence

Studied more than any weight medication of its generation.

20.9%

Average body-weight reduction at the highest studied dose over 72 weeks — in clinical trials of branded, FDA-approved tirzepatide.

In large clinical trials, participants taking branded tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost substantially more weight on average than those on GLP-1–only medication — which is why many clinicians consider the dual-action approach when GLP-1 alone hasn't been enough.

Those results come from trials of FDA-approved branded tirzepatide products, not compounded preparations, which are not FDA-approved or evaluated. Compounded tirzepatide is not interchangeable with any branded product. Individual results vary with dose, adherence, lifestyle, and history — and are never guaranteed.

Tirzepatide vs. semaglutide

Two good options. One right answer — yours.

Aspect Semaglutide Tirzepatide
Mechanism GLP-1 receptor agonist Dual GLP-1 + GIP receptor agonist
Routine Once-weekly injection Once-weekly injection
In branded trials Strong, well-established weight reduction Greater average reduction in head-to-head studies
At Parke From $133/mo From $249/mo
Often considered when Starting GLP-1 therapy for the first time GLP-1 alone hasn't been enough, or goals are larger

You don't have to choose alone. Your clinician recommends one based on your history, goals, and how you respond — and can adjust course later.

The candid part

Side effects, said plainly.

You deserve the whole picture before you start — not after.

Common, usually temporary

  • Nausea, especially in the first weeks and after dose increases
  • Constipation or diarrhea
  • Reduced appetite (that's the mechanism, but it can be abrupt)
  • Fatigue or mild injection-site reactions

Rare, but serious — call your clinician

  • Severe abdominal pain that doesn't pass (possible pancreatitis)
  • Gallbladder symptoms — pain, fever, yellowing skin
  • Signs of low blood sugar if you take insulin or sulfonylureas
  • Allergic reactions — swelling, trouble breathing

How Parke handles this: your clinician screens your full history before prescribing, starts you at the lowest dose, and is reachable between refills — most side-effect questions are answered the same business day, and dose adjustments are included in every plan. Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injectable medication that activates two hormone receptors — GLP-1 and GIP — involved in appetite, digestion, and how your body handles energy. At Parke it's prescribed as a compounded preparation by a licensed clinician, when appropriate, and prepared by state-licensed US pharmacies.

Semaglutide works on one pathway (GLP-1); tirzepatide works on two (GLP-1 and GIP). In head-to-head trials of the branded, FDA-approved products, tirzepatide produced greater average weight reduction. That doesn't make it right for everyone — your clinician weighs your history, goals, and tolerance when recommending one.

Often, yes — it's one of the most common conversations our clinicians have. If your progress on GLP-1 alone has stalled, your clinician can evaluate a switch, set an appropriate starting dose, and manage the transition inside your existing plan.

Eligibility is a clinical decision made from your full intake. Tirzepatide is not prescribed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, among other factors your clinician reviews before any prescription is written.

Everything: your medication, clinician reviews, dose adjustments, unlimited care-team messaging, and free cold-chain shipping. No membership fees, no hidden charges, no cancellation fees.

Message your care team — clinical questions are usually answered the same business day. Your clinician can slow your titration, hold a dose, or recommend supportive care. Most early side effects settle as your body adjusts.

Anytime, from your member portal, in about two clicks. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no retention phone calls. Multi-month plans can be paused with your remaining shipments held.

The stronger option, considered properly starts with a conversation.

Important safety information — compounded tirzepatide

Warning: Tirzepatide-containing medicines caused thyroid C-cell tumors in rodent studies; it is unknown whether they cause such tumors in humans. Do not use with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, and abdominal pain. Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney injury, severe gastrointestinal disease, and low blood sugar when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas. Tell your clinician about all medical conditions — including a history of gastroparesis, diabetic retinopathy, or kidney or pancreas problems — and all medications before starting treatment. Stop use and seek immediate care for severe abdominal pain, symptoms of an allergic reaction, or vision changes.
